While many people like to think that they’re breaking records with their sexual prowess, there are few who can boast this achievement in an official capacity. Whether it’s to come away with a title, win a prize or just celebrate what Mother Nature bestowed on you, here are some titillating world-record holders who may just win you your next trivia night.
Nature’s biggest assets
This honour goes to Annie Hawkins-Turner from Atlanta, Georgia: each of her (natural) breasts weighs roughly 25 kilograms. She currently wears a size 52L bra, the largest bra ever manufactured in America. Annie has held the Guinness World Record since 2000, and is now a web entrepreneur who models under the name ‘Norma Stitz’. While we’re on the subject of size, American Nick Stoeberl is the record holder for the longest tongue, measuring in at 101 centimetres.
The very, very long kiss
In 2013, Thai couple Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat defended their world record for the world’s longest kiss. (One of the couples they were competing against was a husband and wife in their seventies.) In an incredible feat of endurance, the pair shared a single kiss for 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds without coming up for air. Maybe there is such a thing as too much foreplay?
The quickest way to get you undressed
With all the straps and clasps involved in getting a person naked, it's rarely executed with any measure of grace or skill – unless you practise, of course. A Turkish gent by the name of Sevgi Uguz holds the world record for the quickest time undressing a female mannequin, at 9.06 seconds. This is all well and good, but the question is: how long would it take him to undress a male mannequin? All mannequins are created equal.
The friskiest king England’s ever had
As mentioned previously, King Charles II of England was well known for his insatiable sexual appetite. According to historians, Charles II was the randiest of all the philandering monarchs, having at least 14 known mistresses while he was on the throne. He had affairs with famous courtesans, actresses, commoners and even his mother’s maid of honour. One of Charles’s mistresses – Hortense Mancini, Duchess of Mazarin – actually also had an affair with one of his illegitimate daughters after they broke up.
The randiest country in the world
And the winner is… Greece! A 2013 study found that 87% of Greeks have sex at least once a week. However, on record, the Swiss are having better sex. Of the Swiss surveyed, 21% rated their sex lives as “excellent” and a further 32% said that they often have sex in public places. Interestingly, Switzerland still has one of the lowest teen birth rates in the world, presumably because of their frank emphasis on sex education, which begins in preschool in many parts of the country. Second on the satisfaction list was Spain, who – apart from celebrating same-sex partnerships (same-sex marriage was legalised in 2005) – have a very liberal attitude towards sex. For example, it’s perfectly common to go topless or even nude on Spanish beaches – just remember to put on sunscreen everywhere.
